Four persons needed hospitalization following a crash in the Town of Belgium on Saturday morning. The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office says they got the call at 7:37 a.m., reporting a collision on Ozaukee County Highway “D” east of Kay-K Road about three miles west of the Village.
The Sheriff says that a 60-year-old Brown Deer man was eastbound on “D” and attempting to turn left into a driveway, failing to yield to a westbound pickup truck hauling a trailer. The 46-year-old truck driver from Belgium couldn’t stop in time and the vehicles collided. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Aurora Grafton for treatment. Passengers in both vehicles didn’t fare as well.
A 53-year-old Milwaukee woman in the eastbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital, while a 69-year-old man traveling in the pickup truck was taken to Aurora Grafton for treatment of serious injuries. That crash remains under investigation.
