Donald H. Tykac, age 92, of Plymouth, gained his eternal wings on May 30, 2023.
He was born in Granton, WI, a son of the late Frank and Erna (Garbisch) Tykac. Don attended schools in
Granton and joined the Army Reserves until his discharge in 1952.
On January 27, 1951, he married Donna Rae Raab in Marshfield, WI. The couple moved to Plymouth in
1954 to raise their family. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2009.
He worked in the enamel dept. at Kohler Company for 37 years and was member of the Local Union 833.
Don was also a member of EAA, and Antique Model T Club. He always loved driving his 1921 Model T in
the parade, often with his large gorilla on the back.
Don was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth, serving many years as the
treasurer. He also served many years with: Meals on Wheels, parking cars at the Sheboygan County
Fairgrounds, and as a bell ringer with Salvation Army.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying his many planes, and spending time at his cabin “up north.”
Survivors include: Five Children: Robert (Suzy) Tykac of Lake Tomahawk, WI, Sandra (Rich) Cook of
Plymouth, Marilyn Brion of Sheboygan, Roger (Candy) Tykac of Sheboygan, and Sherrell Dean of
Plymouth; 19 Grandchildren; 43 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great-Great Grandchildren; As well as many in-
laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Don was preceded in death by: His Parents; Wife, Donna Rae; Brother, Frank; Son-in-law, David;
Grandson, David; Great Grandchild, Aaliyah; and Grandson-in-law, Kurt.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday (June 7, 2023) at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 9:00-11:00am, with a service to follow at 11:00am. Pastor Sara Gorman
will officiate and burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Don’s name.
