Edwin Rautmann, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2023, at Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice with his family by his side.
He was born on November 15, 1935 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Edwin W. and Viola (Jurss)
Rautmann.
Ed attended Grade School at Immanuel Lutheran for eight years and graduated from Central High School
in 1953. After Graduated he started a carpenter apprenticeship with A.E. Nack. In 1957, he finished his
apprenticeship and joined the Army National Guard, serving a six month duty at Ft. ORD. He then went
on to serving 6 years with the Co. D, Red Arrow National Guard in Sheboygan.
In 1960, he married Beverly Kohls and together they had three wonderful children. On May 14 th , 2023,
they celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Ed spent most of his working years with Quasius Construction as a shop superintendent, retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and following the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers,
and Milwaukee Bucks.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; three children, Cheryl (Willie) Torrison, LuAnn (Jeff) Zinkel, and Jeff
Rautmann; five grandchildren, Nic (Brenda) Torrison, Erika Torrison, Zach (Lisa) Torrison, Tyler Zinkel and
Kelsey Zinkel (fiancé Brock Blair); two great-grandchildren, Eriel and Theo; three sisters-in-law, Mary
Kohls, Helen and Joan Rautmann; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and many brothers and sisters-in-
law.
Visitation will be held on Thursday (June 1, 2023) at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth from 10:00
AM – 12:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Pastor John Schultz, Pastor of the church
will officiate. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ed’s name for St. John Lutheran Church in
Plymouth and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
