A 32-year-old man from Plymouth will spend the next ten years in federal prison after being convicted of setting a fire that killed a mother of three.
Jonathan T. Lane admitted to setting a fire in the Plymouth apartment building where he lived on November 9th of 2017. The blaze destroyed that building and damaged surrounding structures. A resident of another apartment, Tammy Aschenbach, returned to the burning building to rescue her three children, not realizing that they were safe, and her body was found later.
Lane was found guilty of setting that fire, and on Wednesday U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman noted the serious nature of the offense and the need to protect the public when imposing the ten years imprisonment. Lane was also ordered to pay restitution that could exceed $400,000, and will spend three years on supervised release after serving his sentence.
