Kristin A. Wente Stagakis, 30 of Port Washington, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Monday morning, May 8, 2023.
Born April 7, 1993, in Sheboygan, Kristin was a daughter of John and Deborah Grover Wente. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 2011. She continued her education at Arizona State University and Lakeland University. On April 17, 2021, she was united in marriage to Nicholas G. Stagakis at The Bog in Cedarburg, WI.
Kristin was sweet, kind and thoughtful. She loved her person and felt so lucky to have met Nick. She loved her family, her friends and her dog Roscoe. She loved her home, was learning to cook, loved organizing surprises but had a hard time keeping them secret. She smiled, giggled, laughed and shared silly facts. She could write texts that were novellas and was very persistent in requesting replies. She loved to help with major cleans of the cabin and the boat; it was special time for Kristin and her Dad. She loved boating, it will not be the same without her, but nothing will. We will miss her desperately.
She loved Greek salads and her Dad’s chicken wings and ribs. She thought he should open a restaurant called “Dad’s Food”. She loved her Mom’s macaroni and cheese, but never with broccoli! She loved candy and ice cream cake.
Kristin’s smile could light up a room. Her eyes sparkled and her laugh was contagious. She loved to take photos and share them. Their home was filled with photos of those she loved.
She was a great organizer and planner, she personally handled all the details of her wedding. It was a perfect and wonderful celebration! The attention to detail she had for any event or gift she planned was thoughtful and personalized. While battling chronic illnesses, she received comfort from giving others joy. The day before she died, she planned a meaningful celebration for Nick’s birthday, even baking two cakes! She felt so happy and accomplished. She suffered daily but loved doing things for others and making them happy.
Kristin worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for many years. Most recently, she loved her job as a medical technologist at Sargento food. She was good with the patients and loved her co workers. She was a proud alumni of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Kristin was an advocate and a friend to the POTS and EDS communities.
Kristin was a sweet soul. Loving everybody that was close to her, she was especially close to her father who she spoke to multiple times a day. She was very proud of the home she created with Nick and in love with the personal touches they added together. Her beloved dog Roscoe was always at her side, giving her comfort.
Kristin loved to travel. She visited 42 countries and over 30 states. Her favorite was her recent trip to Greece with her husband. She celebrated her 30th birthday in St. John with Nick, Deb and John, and then visited Baltimore to catch up with Sam and Greg. Next up on her list was the Maldives. She didn’t live nearly long enough, but experienced much and impacted so many people.
We loved to laugh with and at her Kristinisms, here are a few examples to make you smile – furnistat, bamboon and heimlich remover. She was well loved and will be missed.
