Marietta Rodriguez, age 87, of Sheboygan passed away Thursday May 4, 2023, at
a hospital in Green Bay. Marietta was born October 10, 1935, in Manila,
Philippines to the late Antonio and Juliana (Cortez) Avellanosa. She was educated
in the Philippines earning her master’s degree in education with a major in
mathematics. After coming to the United States, she was employed as a manager
for Home for Independent Living and then in her retirement was a bank teller at the
Sheboygan Area Credit Union.
Marietta is survived by her husband Crispin, six children Ana Maria (Alberto)
Pabayos, Maria Corazon (Salvador) Japson, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Maria Elena
(Emmanuel) Viernes, Maria Imelda (Joey) Hizon and Enrique (Lea) Rodriguez, 24
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, siblings Yolanda Sunpay, Antonio
(Herminia) Avellanosa and Gloria (Peter) Laroza.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and one great-
grandchild.
Family and friends may gather at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron
Avenue, Sheboygan on Thursday May 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
Mass at 12:00 noon. Fr. Norberto Sandoval will officiate. Entombment will take
place at the Calvary Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
