Vincent W. Sonntag, 90, of Sheboygan passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Countryside Manor in
Sheboygan. He was born on February 3, 1933 in Sheboygan to the late Joseph and Isabel (Shropp)
Sonntag. Vincent joined in holy matrimony with Lis Carman on February 24, 1962 at Holy Name
Catholic Church.
He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1951. He then attended technical school to become a
plumber in the family business. He was the owner of Sonntag Plumbing for over 32 years before retiring
in 2014 at the age of 81.
Vincent was a United States Army veteran having served from 1957-1959.
Vincent was a member of Boy Scout Troop #805 for 30 years, where he served as a Committee Chairman
for many years. He received the following awards from the Boy Scouts: District Award of Merit, Bronze
Pelican Award and Order of the Arrow Award. He was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic Church,
where he served on the building and grounds committee. Vincent was also actively involved with Knights
of Columbus, Community Players and Sheboygan Theater. Sonntag Plumbing sponsored little league
baseball for over 30 years.
Vincent is survived by his children, Scott (Barb) Sonntag, Carolyn (Tim) Nickerson, Dawn (Todd)
Bolstad and Kevin (Deb) Sonntag; grandchildren, Allison (Drew) Kloes, Joshua Bolstad, Emily Sonntag,
Bill Sonntag, Jacob Nickerson and Nathan, Elijah, Talia, Liana Sonntag; many nieces and nephews along
with other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and 10 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 12:00PM at Holy Name
Catholic Church, 818 Huron Avenue, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Family will visit with family and friends at
10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Holy Name Catholic Church or Camp Rokilio (c/o Bay-
Lakes Council BSA).
