James C. Hadler, age 81, of Plymouth, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023,
after a brief stay at Plymouth Health Services. He was born on July 3, 1941, in
Rochester, Minnesota, to the late Gilbert Hadler and Francis Blood.
After graduation from Plainview High School, Jim traveled to Sheboygan County with a
group of friends. He started working at Richardson’s Brothers furniture factory, later
moving to Gilson Brothers/ Lawn-Boy/Toro in Plymouth where he worked for 42 years.
Jim loved the people he worked with in his job as a warehouse worker, belonging to
UAW Local 1291.
In July of 1999, he married the love of his life and best friend, Lois. They enjoyed
spending time together caring for their golden retriever, Bandit, and traveling. Some of
their most memorable trips were to places such as Graceland, Disney World, a
weeklong train ride to Reno, Nevada, and a cruise to Cancun, Mexico.
When at home, Jim loved cheering loudly for his beloved Packers, spending time
outside feeding the fish in his pond or tinkering in the garage. He also enjoyed restoring
vintage cars, and attending old car shows in Iola and to the Milwaukee World of Wheels.
Jim was a hard-working, gentle man who was kind to everyone he met. Anyone who
was ever blessed to know him will miss his great sense of humor and his beautiful
smile.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Hadler of Plymouth, his son, DuWayne (Debora) Hadler
of Sheboygan Falls, his daughter, Jeannie (Tim) DeGroff of Plymouth (grandchildren
Paige & Jacob), as well as his extended family: Tim (Marty) Beck of Bettendorf, Iowa,
(children Laura, Megan & Ian), Angela Okoroma of Plymouth (daughter, Sophia), and
Brad (Fricy) Beck along with many close life-long friends.
Following Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and
friends will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home, 1317 WI 67, Plymouth on Saturday
May13 th with visitation at 10:00 am followed by a brief service at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sheboygan County Humane Society are welcomed.
