Regardless of the weather, the calendar today says it’s May, and with that the countdown to summer events has begun. One of those approaching deadlines is the application to be in Sheboygan’s “Freedom Fest Parade” held on Tuesday, July 4th. This year’s event is being coordinated by Visit Sheboygan, which is accepting applications through Friday, June 2nd. Non-profit groups can participate without cost, while commercial or for-profit businesses and organizations will need to submit a $100 fee, and all parade exhibits must utilize a Freedom Fest theme.
Sheboygan’s Independence Day / Freedom Fest will kick off with the Sheboygan “Y” Freedom Run at 7:30 a.m. on July 4th with the parade commencing at 9. While there will be music at Fountain Park at noon, the remainder of Freedom Fest activities will take place at Deland Park from noon until 11 p.m.
