MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The L.A. Angels beat the Brewers 3-0 in Milwaukee Sunday with the help of a towering homer from their star player.
Shohei Ohtani stepped up to bat in the third inning and crushed a 162-foot-high homer to give his side a 2-0 lead. It was the tallest home run since Stat-cast began tracking the category in 2015.
Jose Suarez got the win after surrendering just two hits while striking out six batters. LA improved to 15-14 and sits third in the NL West.
Joey Wiemer went one-for-three with a double for Milwaukee, which dropped to 18-10. The Brew Crew are second in the NL Central.
The Brewers are off Monday. They travel to Denver for a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies beginning Tuesday night.
