Wallace W. “Wally” Hecker, age 91, of Plymouth, passed away on April 21, 2023 in Fond du Lac.
He was born on January 31, 1932 in the Town of Plymouth, WI, a son of the late Elmer and Anita
(Pickruhn) Hecker and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1951. Following high school,
Wally served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954.
On June 27, 1959 he married Grace Rowe at St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah.
He worked at Kohler Company for 43 years until his retirement and also worked part-time for 27 years
at the Plymouth Armory.
Wally was a member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and Knights of Columbus
Council # 1789.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, cutting lawn, and most of all he loved spending time with his wife,
children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: His loving wife of 63 years, Grace of Plymouth; Children: Michael Hecker of Plymouth,
Jeffrey (Marijo) Hecker of Sheboygan, Pamela (Paul) Nelson of Fond du Lac, Patrick Hecker of Rockton,
IL, Sandra (Cory) Barrette of Wasilla, AK; 6 grandchildren:, Stephanie (Shane) Dussault of Plymouth,
Jason Hecker of Plymouth, Amy (Zachary) Kohl of Sun Prairie, Ryan (Ashli) Nelson of Fond du Lac, Koya
(fiancée, Cassie) Barrette of Grand Junction, CO, and Joscelyn Barrette of Wasilla, AK; 7 step
grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren: Trinity, Braxton, Jensen, Cayden, and Lila.
Also survived by: His sister, Marcella Peters of Plymouth; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Blanche Jacobson
of Poplar, WI, Donna Brevig of Superior, James Rowe of Solon Springs, and Dorothy (Paul) Wedan of
Superior; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: His parents; Sister, Shirley Hecker; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Clara
Smith, Earl Rowe, Roscoe Yadon, Ray and Betty Hofsted, Robert Jacobson, Truman and Frances Harvey,
Julian Brevig, Dale Pearson, and Janet Rowe.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (April 29, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00pm, with a service and military rites to follow at 4:00pm.
Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth. The service will be live-
streamed and will be available to watch on the Suchon Funeral Home Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Wally’s name to: Camo Quilt Project; or the Plymouth
American Legion Post 243.
