Margaret E. Curtiss, age 83, of Plymouth, passed away on April 22, 2023, at Sharon S. Richardson
Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 20, 1939 in Fond du Lac, WI, a daughter of the late Andrew and Emma (Schulz)
Sponsel.
Margaret attended Pius Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957.
On July 27, 1957, she married Roger Curtiss at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee. The couple resided
and raised their family in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2019.
Margaret lived and worked in the Plymouth area all her life. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran
Church in Glenbeulah and was a current member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Margaret enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading, and most of all loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include: Three sons: William “Bill” (Shelly) Curtiss, Glenn (Ann) Curtiss, and David Curtiss; Two
daughters: Mary (Dan) Merten and Ann Curtiss (special friend, Brian); Two grandchildren: Kevin
(Samantha) Curtiss and Elizabeth “Beth” (Jim) Krug; Great grandchildren: Luka Curtiss and Sullinger
“Sully” James Krug; Step grandson, Tony (Shannon) Eman; Step great grandchildren: Nolan, Liam, and
Teigan; Sister, Elaine Schauer; Brother-in-law, Lee (Mary Lou) Curtiss; As well as many nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband: Roger; Her parents; Mother and father-in-law: William J.B.
and Elizabeth Curtiss; Brother-in-law: Glenn Schauer; and Nephews: Scott Curtiss and infant nephew
Michael Curtiss.
Private graveside services will be held at the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. John Schultz, Pastor
of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Margaret’s name for Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
