Anthony “Tony” Lee Horneck, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by the love of his family after a lengthy health battle at St. Luke’s Medical Center. He was 59 years old.
Tony was born June 16, 1963 in Plymouth, the son of Norman and Ginny (Matzdorf) Horneck. He grew up in Plymouth, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1981.
For over 30 years, Tony worked in the construction industry, owning his own company, Tony Horneck Construction LLC.
On September 21, 2019, he was united in marriage with Vicky Hoftiezer in Plymouth.
An outdoorsman, Tony loved racing, hunting, fishing, vacations in July with the family, 4-wheeling up north, playing dartball and horseshoes, sitting on his lower deck watching the sunset, having bonfires and listening to music.
Tony is survived by his wife Vicky, his brothers Russell and Rich (Teri) Horneck, sisters-in-law Kelly Horneck and Sue (Cory) Wrensch, brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Gerlach; fathers-in-law Doug Gerlach and William Hoftiezer; nieces and nephews: Amanda (Kyle) Hemmrich, Kaycee Zimmerman (fiancé Sean Volkema), Nick (Erin) Horneck, Trevor Horneck (special friend Hanna), Jacob Horneck, Asher Gerlach and Drake Gerlach; his cat Miles and dog Teddy; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Arlyn and mother-in-law Marlene Hoftiezer.
A Memorial Service will be held at Salem Plankroad UCC, 5461 County Road M in Plymouth on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 6:00PM. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 3:00-6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
