MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Brewers fell to the Detroit Tigers 4-2 in Milwaukee on Monday night in the first of a three-game series.
Colin Rea got the loss after surrendering four runs on five hits over five innings.
Willy Contreras and Mike Brosseau each blasted solo shots for Milwaukee, which dropped to 15-8. The Brewers remain in second place in the NL Central.
Nick Maton smacked a three-run homer to lead Detroit, which improved to 8-13 on the season. Matthew Boyd tossed five innings of two-run ball with eight strikeouts to notch his first win. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tigers.
The Brewers and Tigers are back in action Tuesday night for game two. Eric Lauer gets the start for Milwaukee opposite Spencer Turnbull.
