MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Miami Heat pulled the upset and beat the Milwaukee Bucks 130-117 on Sunday night to take a 1-0 series lead in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.
The Bucks suffered a major injury to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was fouled late in the first quarter and landed awkwardly on his back. He stayed in the game for a brief time, but was later ruled out with a lower back contusion. He had six points in 11 minutes before leaving the game.
Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 33 points while Jrue Holiday tallied a double-double on 16 points and assists. Bobby Portis netted 21 off the bench in the loss.
Miami’s Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 35 points and dished out 11 assists for a double-double. Bam Adebayo added 22 points of his own while Kevin Love scored 18 off the bench. Tyler Herro netted 12 points in 19 minutes before leaving the game with a broken hand.
