The need for new uniforms and equipment is the subject of a GoFundMe effort now underway by a Sheboygan Youth Football organization. The “KLC” in KLC Youth Football stands for Kohler, Sheboygan Lutheran and Christian, three schools that compete as one team at the JV and Varsity High School level. The KLC Football program is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization that operates summer through late fall and last year allowed 54 4th through 8th grade students to play tackle football, preparing them for high school level competition, but even further, the program develops them as young people. As head coach Brandon Kehoe put it, “We are more than just a football team, we are a family.”
Entering the new season, the program is in need of new pants, jerseys, helmets, footballs and more, some $10,000 worth, and a GoFundMe page has been launched in order to raise half that amount. After one day into the campaign, $50 has been given by one donor.
