Robert A. “Bob” Straus, 72, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at Sheboygan Health Services.
Born February 4, 1951 in Sheboygan, Robert was a son of the late Robert and Connie Zajkowski Straus. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1969. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1972. On June 30, 1990, he was united in marriage to Pam Smith in Cedar Lake, WI.
Bob was a draft specialist for Sheboygan Beverage for many years. He previously worked at Kingsbury Brewery and retired from the Vander Vaart Co. Following his retirement, he drove cars for International Auto. He was a former member of the Sheboygan Dog Training Club and the American Legion, Post 89. He enjoyed car racing and golfing with his Irish friends. He was also an avid sports fan who cheered on the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. One of his greatest joys were his beloved dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam; his daughter, Erica (Stephen Gilbert) Straus, Sheboygan; his brother, Steve (Judy) Straus, Sheboygan; nephew, Sean (Trisha) Straus and family, Brianna and Abby; his niece, Stephanie (Al) De Leon and family, Oliver and Eloise; his sister-in-law, Anne (Jeff) Regan; other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Robert and Connie, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael.
A memorial services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Erica and Steve’s home at 2506 Ridgeway Circle, Sheboygan, WI 53081. A celebration of life reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Health services and the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Bob’s arrangements.
