As we were taught on Friday, severe weather season has begun in Wisconsin, and the National Weather Service could use some trained eyes on the sky in order to keep people safe. You could become a key part of this network by attending a Storm Spotter training session at the Cedar Grove-Belgium High School tonight from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
No registration is required, and so you can just show up for the presentation from National Weather Service-Milwaukee staffer Kevin Wagner. The first hour will cover safety aspects for spotters and the general public, while the second hour will cover the essentials of what you need to know to report severe weather to the National Weather Service.
That session will also be recorded and available for replay next month, and this link will send you to the National Weather Service Storm Spotter page.
