Donald C. “Donnie” Steffen was born on July 30, 1932 and passed away on March 29, 2023 at the age of
90. On August 31, 1957 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Stubler at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in
School Hill, WI. Donnie served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and 8 years in the
Army Reserve. During his working years he was employed by Plastics Engineering from 1955 until his
retirement in 1994. Donnie was a devout servant to St. Dominic Catholic Church and to the Knights of
Columbus, serving both in many capacities. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. Donnie was a faithful, hardworking, and humble servant of Christ. He enjoyed
woodworking, spending time at Kelly Lake with friends and family, and was an avid Brewers and Packer
fan.
Donnie is survived by his daughters, Susan (Ken) Leffin and Mary (Randy) Holler; son, Scott Steffen
grandchildren, Ashley Hanna, Matthew (Alyssa) Holler, Nicholas Steffen, Ben Holler Emilie (Cullin)
Conklin and Mollie (Ryan) Maslanka; great-grandchildren, Jake and Allie Hanna, James, Olivia and Chase
Donald Holler and Avery Conklin; brothers, Michael (Marilyn) Steffen, Lambert (Pat) Steffen and
Lawrence Steffen; sisters, Josephine (Don) Moss and Carol Heinzen and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Mark)
Jensema. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, friends and his Knights of Columbus family. Donnie
is preceded in death by his wife, Rosie; parents, Raymond and Katherine Steffen; brother, Deacon James
Steffen and brother-in-law, Roman Heinzen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21 st St.,
Sheboygan, WI, 53081 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 130 p.m. Burial will take place at
Greendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus or Sharon
S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for their
compassionate care given to Donnie in his final days.
