MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Boston Celtics closed the gap on their Eastern Conference rivals after a 140-99 beatdown of the Bucks in Milwaukee on Thursday night.
Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 40 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Jaylen Brown netted 30 points. Al Horford and Malcolm Brogdon each scored 14 points as Boston improved to 53-24.
The Celtics have won four of their last five games and trail the Bucks by two games for first place in the Eastern Conference.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 24 points for Milwaukee, which had its two-game win streak snapped.
The Bucks return to action Sunday night when they host Philadelphia.
