Anna “Anneliese” E. Koranda, age 80, of Sheboygan, died on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born in Vilsbiburg, Germany on December 30, 1942, the daughter of the late Franz and Anna Pfefferder Berzl.
She attended school in Germany and then immigrated to the United States. On August 28, 1965, she was united in marriage to Francis Koranda at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Anneliese and Francis were the owner operators of the Chalet Tavern from 1976 to 1986. Anneliese was a bartender at Burhops Bungalow, Harbor Lights and Sly’s Midtown Saloon. She also worked at Pick-n-Save and Kwik Trip until her retirement.
Anneliese was a current member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Crocheting and Knitting Club of Sheboygan Falls, and the D’Werdenfelser Schuhplattlers for over 45 years. She also enjoyed camping in their motorhome in Clark County.
Survivors include her husband, Francis, of Sheboygan; two children, Gisela Ebbers, of Sheboygan Falls and Eric (April) Koranda, of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Tyler, Jamie, Spencer, and Jarod; and her sister, Andrea (Robert) Haider, of Germany. Many other relatives and friends further survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Franz Xaver Berzel.
A funeral service for Anneliese will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan, with Father Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
