LAS VEGAS, NV (WHBL) – The Wisconsin Badgers were held scoreless for the final 9 minutes and 7 seconds of Tuesday night’s NIT semifinal game against North Texas and dropped a 56-54 decision to the Mean Green.
The Badger led 41-29 at halftime, but managed to score just 13 points the entire second half. North Texas took its first lead with 2:08 left in the game. That capped a 10-0 run.
Wisconsin made just one of its last 16 shots, including 10 straight misses.
Chucky Hepburn led the Badgers with 15 points – all in the first half. Tyler Wahl and Connor Essegian each added 12.
Wisconsin’s season ends with a record of 20-15.
North Texas will face UAB in the NIT Championship game Thursday night. UAB beat Utah Valley 88-86 in overtime to advance to the title game.
