The Sheboygan Common Council will hold hearings on several items tonight before expected passage by the full Council during tonight’s meeting at City Hall.
Besides changes to assessments to five parking districts, tonight’s hearings will also concern zoning changes that would further the development of land on the northeast corner of Taylor Drive and Saemann Avenue. That plot was sold by the Sheboygan Area School District to Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin for construction of a new medical campus along with residential and office buildings that will also include open spaces on the 26-acre property. The zoning changes are needed to accommodate the new development.
Hearings will be held prior to expected approval during the last portion of tonight’s meeting. A spokesperson for Froedtert told WHBL News that the zoning changes are part of the process of moving plans forward as they work with City Leaders on the next steps towards a final project. Froedtert currently serves the area through a clinic on Taylor Drive, a walk-in clinic at the Meijer store, and through Holy Family Memorial Orthopaedics, and Ear, Nose & Throat.
