(WHBL) – The Wisconsin Badgers will keep playing after a 75-71 win over Liberty University in the second round of the NIT on Sunday.
Chucky Hepburn scored 29 points to lead the Badgers. Tyler Whal added 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Steven Crowl scored 14.
Liberty was led by 31 points, six rebounds, and four assists from Darius McGhee.
Wisconsin shot 54% from the field but just 7% from three-point range. Liberty finished 47% from the field.
The Badgers travel to Eugene, Oregon on Tuesday for a quarterfinal matchup with the University of Oregon. The winner advances to the NIT semifinals, which will take place in Las Vegas.
