Florence Haas, age 95 of Sheboygan passed away Tuesday morning March 14, 2023. Florence
was born January 6, 1928, in Sheboygan Falls to the late Harry and Tillie (Schomberg) Boll.
Florence grew up in rural Sheboygan County presently occupied by the Municipal Airport.
Growing up on a farm with a large family taught her the value of community and importance of
caring for one another. This became her trademark as she inspired the generations of her family.
Florence was employed by the H.C. Prange Co., Thimmigs, Country Kitchen and the John
Michael Kohler Arts Center. Florence loved being around people and was very active in the
community.
Florence was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ for 36 years and
participated in Mother’s Club, Couples Club and the church choir. When Florence moved she
attended the Evangelical Free Church and played in the Bell Choir and loved the Forever Young
Group.
She was very musical and had a wonderful baritone voice, participating in various choirs.
Florence passed the family musical talent to her children and grandchildren. She had a piano in
her home and an organ later in life and lit up the keys with her sheet music and encouraged
everyone to sit beside her- German or English. She would encourage music to fulfil anyone’s
spirit. She loved the Sheboygan Concert Association held at Urban Junior High School. She
resided at Waterview Heights for the past nine years and made several friends – filling the
community hall celebrating her 95 th birthday. She didn’t miss her card game nights, sheepshead,
Bunco, Bingo, and Trix.
Gardening was another passion, from raising vegetables, annuals and perennials and house plants
– she had a green thumb. Florence was an active member of the Lakeshore Garden Club for 22
years serving as president, vice president and secretary.
Florence’s greatest joy and love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She
was known as “Grandma Flo”.
