Michael Kluth passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Nicholas Hospital with his family at his side. He was 54 years old.
Michael was born February 4, 1969 in Chicago, IL to Lester and Nancy (Skirnick) Kluth. In 1987, he graduated from Plymouth High School, where he developed a love for baseball and made life-long friends that he cherished each and every day. He later went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, where he studied English and Art and his passion for both was eminent in all areas of his life. He selflessly spent his career working with developmentally disabled adults, a job that he excelled at and found purpose in.
On August 21, 1999, he was united in marriage with Marisa Hoier in New Holstein who he was married to, and in love with, for 23 years.
Mike was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and softball, and loved playing locally with the Sheboygan Area Softball League, especially when it gave him an excuse to revisit with old friends. He was fanatically obsessed with Boston sports teams, and enjoyed coaching his sons’ teams as they were growing up. He was an artist of many mediums and loved to paint and write: one of his proudest pieces was a published book about his sobriety and his personal journey. He was a proud, devoted dad who enjoyed spending time with his family, and loved to make people laugh with his witty and sarcastic remarks.
Mike is survived by his wife, Marisa, and their sons, Griffinn of Chicago, and Hudson of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his mother, Nancy (John) Nonnweiler of Sheboygan, father, Lester Kluth of Lake City, MN, brother Richard (Missy) Kluth of Plymouth, mother-in-law Lyla (David) Nennig of Osceola, IA, father-in-law Joseph (Sarah) Hoier of Sheboygan, sister-in-law Lindsey (Shane) Gerner of Chilton, brother-in-law, David Hoier of Athelstane, step-sisters-in-law Lisa Nennig of Stockbridge and Shawn Nennig of Pulaski, aunt Nancy Skirnick, cousins Brad (Lindsey) Skirnick and Amy Skirnick, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son Elias, uncle Bill Skirnick, grandparents Andy and Stella Skirnick and Lester and Ethel Kluth, and step-grandparents John and Patricia Nonnweiler.
Funeral Services will be held at 5PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at First Reformed Church, 527 Giddings Ave. in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 2:00-4:45PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in his name.
