A blanket of heavy, wet snow arrived as expected last evening, and by sunrise had most of Sheboygan County under around a half foot of snow.
Most schools – including the Sheboygan Area School District – called off classes as the weather made safe travel impossible, and the heavy coating of snow created scattered power outages throughout the area.
The National Weather Service said that another 1-3 inches of snow was possible this morning, while an area of Lake Effect snow appeared poised to put even more upon the Sheboygan area. All activity should have dwindled to only scattered snow showers by noon, clearing the way for cleanup efforts to begin
