The old saying goes “In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb”, or the reverse of that when it comes to March weather. But the Sheboygan Area may need a new animal for 2023.
So far the National Weather Service says we’ve averaged nearly six degrees warmer than usual for the first five days, but mild weather isn’t expected to last. And after a slippery mix made roads slick overnight, Winter seems ready to pounce again later this week as forecasters suspect we could be in for a half-foot of wet, heavy snow from Thursday into Friday, and if there’ uncertainty – which there is – it could be more wet than white.
For the long term, lovers of spring weather may be feeling lonely with forecasts indicating below normal temperatures for the remainder of March while precipitation should be near normal, but trending dryer towards the end of the month.
So, Lion…Lamb? Maybe this March will resemble a different, colder creature.
