MADISON, WI (WHBL) – Wisconsin couldn’t hit the shots when they needed to.
The Badgers lost to 5th-ranked Purdue on Thursday night, 63-61, in large part because Wisconsin missed its last four shots in the final four minutes. Purdue on the other hand, hit its late-game free throws and iced the victory.
Max Klesmit led the Badgers with 19 points – 17 of which came in the second half. Chucky Hepburn added 13.
The loss means Wisconsin will almost certainly not make the NCAA Tournament. The loss dropped the Badgers to 16-13, 8-11 in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin plays its final regular season game Sunday at Minnesota.
