Timothy W. Ertel, age 73, of Cleveland passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, surrounded
by his loving family.
He was born in Sheboygan on April 6, 1949, to the late John and Marjorie (Walters) Ertel. He
attended Ebenezer Grade School and North High School. He proudly served his country in the
United States Army from 1967 until 1970. On November 4, 1971, Tim married Carol Jocis. In
1973, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy and served until 1976. On May 31, 2014, Tim
married Linda (Reinl) Hulbert in Waukegan, IL. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, where he was in the choir and helped organize Music Fest.
Tim loved every aspect of music, from singing, playing the guitar, or writing songs that glorified
the Lord. Spending time with his family was also a favorite of Tim’s. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughters, Melissa (Todd) Bauer and Shelley (Ertel)
Billmeier; grandchildren, Urban, Lincoln, Easton, Maximilian, and Marceline; step-children, Tyler
Hulbert, Jennifer (Fred) Eder, Daniel (Tara) Hulbert, Gabriel (Kerstin) Hulbert, Andrew (Aimee)
Hulbert and Noah (Stephanie) Hulbert; many step-grandchildren; a brother, David Ertel; ex-wife
Carol (Gary) Schroeder; other family and friends further survive.
Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his siblings, Roger Ertel, Penny Ertel, and
Marylouise (Ertel) Tershner and a nephew Sean Ertel.
A Memorial Service for Tim will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Bethlehem
Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., in Sheboygan, with Pastor Patrick Niles officiating. Family
will greet visitors, at church, on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Tim will be
laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park. For those who would like to attend the service for Tim

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tim’s name.
