The removal of large trees on a north side Sheboygan street will present more than the usual problems next week. The City Forestry Department announced on Thursday that the operation on the dead-end 1500 and 1600 blocks of Main Avenue will remove a significant number of mature maple trees, requiring placement of large equipment that will periodically block traffic. When that occurs there could be waits of up to 15 minutes before cars can again get through. They added that they will be able to open the street quickly in case of emergencies.
Those closures will happen between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday next week, and the DPW is asking for everyone’s patience while they work to remove those trees.
