
Dennis Stauss, a quiet gentle man who always put others first died at the age of 82 on Tuesday morning,
February 7, 2023 at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan. He was born on August 1, 1940 in Sheboygan, son
of the late Henry and Marcella (Gersmehl) Stauss. He was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class
of 1958. Dennis married Joanne in June of 1962, together they had four children.
Dennis was with the Kohler Company for 43 years, and was a volunteer with the Ada Fire Department
for 36 years. He was a devoted Packer fan having season tickets for many years. The Ice Bowl and Super
Bowl game in New Orleans were some of his special memories. Dennis also followed the Bucks, Brewers
and Badgers.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Joanne; his children: Michael (Annabelle) Stauss, Michelle (Chad)
Kuhfuss and Melissa Krolow (special friend Bob Riemer); five grandsons: Zachary, Trevor, Jared, Evan
and Albert. Dennis is further survived by his brother Wayne (Jeannie) Stauss, sister-in-law: Bonnie (Neal)
Baum, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son:
Jeffrey Alan.
Per Dennis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on
Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6 th Street, Kiel).
Officiating at the service will be Rev. Melinda Feller with burial to take place at a later date at St. John’s
UCC Cemetery, Elkhart Lake. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday
from 11:00AM until the time of service at 1:00PM.
A Memorial Fund will be established in Dennis’ name.
