Several reading our stories of the actions taken by the Sheboygan Common Council to terminate City Administrator Todd Wolf wasted little time to voice their opinions on the developments.
Prior to Monday evening’s Special Common Council Meeting, a reader named “Randal” reacted to the pending actions and silence surrounding them, stating among other things that “This will make a stain on all involved, and come re-election time, this will be remembered!”, and “…as for the information asked for by Mr. Wolf’s attorney and the silence and distane (sic) given forth by the city and the council speaks volumes.”
Another reader, Helen, said “Todd, You are a shining example of what our city needs. No to special interests especially when the people are screaming for more affordable housing. We don’t need diversity, we need just what you did. A foot down on unnecessary spending. Now all of us taxpayers will pay the price for their tantrums.”, and she urged Wolf to “Keep your head high and fight.”
After the Council voted to terminate Wolf’s employment and pay him severance, actions that will reportedly cost the City over $200,000, Randal again chimed in, saying “And this is what happens when accountability goes out the window! Now we wait for each of these who voted “Yes” for re-election. Then WE hold them accountable!”, a sentiment echoed by “John” who said “Maybe time to get new people on the Common Council.”
A third reader, Jill, added “I am so disappointed and saddened by the lack of integrity amongst 8 members of Sheboygan Common Council. Does someone have such control over you that you sacrifice your morals?”
