Carol M. Groene, age 86, of Plymouth, passed away early Tuesday morning (January 3, 2023) at Songbird
Pond Nursing Home in Plymouth.
She was born on July 7, 1936 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter of the late Oscar and Mildred (Kalmerton)
Miller.
Carol attended Little Elkhart Lake Grade School and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1953.
On August 15, 1953 she married Ralph E. Groene at Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake,
WI. The couple has resided in Plymouth since their marriage and together ran the R & C Mini Mart.
Ralph preceded her in death on November 18, 2020.
Carol worked at Clevepak Company in Plymouth for many years and then at Adam’s Pharmacy in
Plymouth for over 15 years, retiring in 1999.
She is a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth and enjoyed golf, playing cards. Cooking
and holding babies and spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by: Her three sons: Steve (Jean) of Mountain, WI, Dennis (Sheryl) of Morton, IL and
Jeffrey (Teresa) of St. Louis, MO; One daughter-in-law: Mary Groene of Onalaska, WI; Ten grandchildren
and ten great grandchildren; One brother: Jerry (Marlene) Miller of Plymouth; One sister: Marilyn
Jaschob of Kiel; Brother-in-law: Richard (Sharon) Groene of Plymouth; and Sister-in-law: Rita (George)
Smick of Portage. Also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, One son: Michael Groene, One great
granddaughter: Alexis Mahler, One brother: Lee Miler, One sister: Susan Packer, and One brother-in-
law: Marvin Jaschob.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 7, 2023) at 1:30 P.M. at Salem United Church of Christ
Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of the church will officiate. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment
will take place in the Greenbush Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the CHURCH on Saturday (Jan. 7, 2023) from 11:30 A.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Carol’s name for Salem United Church of Christ
or a charity of your choice.
