It may get a bit easier for seniors and those with disabilities in rural Sheboygan County to get around, thanks to newly-assigned funds from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The granting of $29,744 was announced on Tuesday by Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as part of a more than $5 million distribution statewide in 2023.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, passed in 2021, provided the Wisconsin DOT with an increase of funds for the 5310 Enhanced mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program for five years beginning in 2023.
Sheboygan County will us the funds as Operating Assistance to fund a volunteer driver.
