A more than $30,000 grant ($30,800) has been assigned to a Sheboygan County conservation organization as part of a $1million program to help protect the quality of the Sheboygan River Watershed.
Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers received the grant as part of a statewide program that aims to improve Wisconsin’s soil and water quality by supporting and advancing producer-led conservation solutions that increase farmer participation in the efforts.
This is the eighth round of awards since the program was established in the 2015-17 biennial state budget, and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection. 43 operations in all were awarded funds during a record round of applicants.
