When the calendar turns to December, most communities in the north – Sheboygan included – can expect parking rules to change with the weather. So residents aren’t caught unaware and looking at parking fines, the Sheboygan Police Department is asking the public to review winter parking rules.
That means that between December 1st and April 30th, alternate side parking will be enforced between midnight and 6 a.m., and the easiest way to remember is to “park for tomorrow”. So before going to bed Wednesday night, park on the odd-numbered, or east and south sides of city streets since you’ll wake up on an odd-numbered day. Then before bedtime on Thursday, park on the even-numbered, or north and west sides. Just one thing…if a street is already posted “No Parking”, then that still applies. And when snow storms hit, you can expect more complicated snow emergency rules to take effect. Follow this link to learn more.
