The Sheboygan Police Department has released the identity of the victim of a hit and run accident that followed the conclusion of Sheboygan’s Holiday Parade on Sunday night.
The victim is 69-year-old Terry J. Rozanski, who was reportedly within the crosswalk at the intersection of 9th and New York Avenue when he was struck by a car driven by a 20-year-old Sheboygan man who fled the scene. Rozanski was taken to the Theda Care Hospital in Neenah where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The offending vehicle was located at a south side apartment complex and the driver, who has yet to be identified, confessed to leaving the scene of the crash. He was arrested for Hit and Run Causing Death and referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office which is expected to issue charges this week.
Sheboygan Police say the crash occurred around 30 minutes after the Sheboygan Holiday Parade had ended and didn’t occur on the parade route. There is no indication that this was an intentional act.
