Jasmaine Linton from an FBI 2020 Mug Shot
A Milwaukee man is due in Sheboygan County Court next week after Police say he mowed down a woman with a van outside a bar in Sheboygan nearly two weeks ago. 41 year old Jasmaine Linton is facing 4 felonies, including attempted first degree intentional homicide, for the incident early in the morning on November 6th.
According to the criminal complaint, Linton had arrived at a bar at Indiana Avenue and South 9th Street around 1:30 that morning after having had an argument and being escorted out, claiming he’d forgotten his jacket. The bartender said he asked for a drink but was told that the bar was closing. Linton reportedly then became unruly, and was asked again to leave.
Witnesses say he got into a minivan, drove down the street, made a u-turn, and sped toward 3 people – striking one who did not see Linton approaching. The two others with her got out of the way, but one sustained injuries to the hand while punching out the driver-side window. The other tried to enter through the passenger side to put the vehicle in park. Investigators say that’s when Linton quickly backed up, shaking that person off the van which then left the scene.
The person Linton struck was rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to Theda Care Hospital in Neenah – her femur had been completely snapped within her upper thigh. Linton was later located and arrested. He’s facing more than 60 years in prison if he’s found guilty. According to the FBI in Milwaukee, Linton was among 24 being sought in 2020 as members of a violent gang-related drug trafficking organization in Milwaukee known as the Buffum Meinecke Boys (BMB).
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon.
