
Colette A. Flood, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022 at Songbird Pond in
Plymouth.
She was born on March 6, 1935 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter of the late Francis and Armella (Tagge) Unger.
She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953. Colette
worked for Dr. Steffan and Dr. Wiese in their office and also at Borden Foods and General Telephone Company in
Plymouth.
On May 4, 1957, she married John L. Flood at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The couple has
resided in Plymouth since their marriage and celebrated their 50 th Wedding Anniversary in 2007. Her husband
preceded her in death on March 1, 2014.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a former member of the Christian Mothers.
Colette enjoyed golf, reading and loved participating in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
She loved her time traveling with John and walking the beaches in Gulf Shores. In her later years, she enjoyed her
classes and friends at Generations in Plymouth.
Survivors include her five children, Robert (Amy) Flood, Ann (David) Miller, David (Lisa) Flood, Daniel (Lynn) Flood,
Julie Flood (Corey Will); 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Corey) Chesley, Michael and Andrew Flood, Ellis (Ann Marie)
Miller, Armella (Matt) Matzdorf, Megan (Joshua) Linse, Andrea (Garrett) Backman, McKenna Flood (Evan Goble),
Ian Flood, Bailey Blanke (Nick Grosskreutz), Olivia (Jeremy) Hentz, and Calie Blanke (Eric Mone) and their father
Dean (Michelle) Blanke; five great-grandchildren, Ozzie Chesley, Deklan and Nerina Miller, Theodore Matzdorf,
Rowan Hentz; two brothers, Robert (Betty) Unger and Thomas Unger (Mary Payne); brothers-in-law, Hank
Vandermause and Patrick (Chris) Flood; and sisters-in-law, Donna Flood and Kay Unger.
Colette is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Colette was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; parents; in-laws, Gerald and Aurelia Flood; sisters,
Barbara Vandermause and Suzanne (Dr. Timm) Zimmermann; brother, Richard Unger; and brother-in-law, Jerry
Flood.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (November 17, 2022) at 6:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Thursday (Nov. 17) at the CHURCH from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Colette’s name.
