Janis E. Albrecht, 75, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at
Northridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc. She was born March 28, 1947 in Kohler to the
late Milton and Loretta (Zimmermann) Gumm. Janis graduated from Kohler High School with the Class
of 1965.
On June 13, 1970 she was united in marriage to Robert Albrecht at Grace UCC in Kohler. Together they
raised four boys; Jason (Lori), of Sheboygan, Daniel (Angela) of Gibbsville, Cory (Abegail) of Plymouth,
and Ronald (Special friend Patti Stuefen) of Sheboygan. They celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Janis was a bookkeeper for Edler & Sons Trucking, and as a tax preparer for Jentsch Tax Service.
Having a strong faith, Janis was an active member of Ebenezer UCC in Sheboygan. She served as the
church treasurer, choir director, and played in the hand bell choir. Her family was her pride and joy. She
loved spending time with her grandchildren creating lasting and cherished memories. Janis enjoyed
bowling, knitting, and gardening. She was an avid Brewer fan, and enjoyed volunteering at Jackson
Elementary School in the lunch and health rooms.
Janis is further survived by her six grandchildren; Casandra (Special friend Josh Payne), Kyra, Shaunna,
Shayla, Braeden, Tiffanie, and 1 on the way, great granddaughter Teresa, siblings; Leon (Barb) Gumm of
Kohler, Darryl (Phyllis) Gumm of Kohler, and Patricia (David) Droege of Sheboygan, and her fur baby
Chopper, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Ebenezer UCC, 3215
Saeman Ave., Sheboygan, with Rev. Lorri Stewart officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, November
18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on
Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the CHURCH. If you are unable
to join the family for the service, it will be livestreamed on her obituary page on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Janis’s name.
