The rate of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County remains nearly steady, with no remarkable up or down trends to note.
Since last Friday, the County Division of Public Health reports 94 new cases, raising the total to 33,823. There were no additional deaths in the past week. Four persons are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 treatment, and total hospitalizations rose by 10 over the past week to 1,351.
The Centers for Disease Control reports that the rate of community transmission in Sheboygan County remains low, with the rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 persons in the past 7 days varying by only about 1%. Hospital admissions were down from 7.8 to 6.1 per 100,000 over a 7-day period, and the percent of staffed hospital beds occupied by COVID-19 patients decreased from 7% to 5.3%.
