Senator Devin LeMahieu has been given a nod of approval by his peers to again be the Senate Majority Leader in the Senate Republican Caucus for the 2023-24 legislative session. LeMahieu won reelection to his post as Senator representing District 9 this past Tuesday, and has served that post since 2015.
Upon his selection in the Senate on Thursday LeMahieu stated: “I am honored to be re-elected as the Senate Majority leader for this 106th Session of the Wisconsin Legislature. We have come back stronger than before and I intend to ensure our state continues to move forward with a budget and policies that support Wisconsin’s families and businesses.”
LeMahieu will lead a comfortable majority in the Senate with a balance of 22 Republicans, 10 Democrats and 1 Independent. In the Assembly Republicans, meanwhile, also enjoy a 63-35 majority over Democrats with 1 Independent in the mix.
