Rachel M. Kubitz, 26, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 6, 2022.
She was born in Plymouth on December 18, 1995, a daughter of William and Christina (Trudeau) Romps.
Rachel attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth
High School in 2014. She played volleyball, basketball, was on the diving team, and was a four year
varsity player and pitcher for the Panthers Fastpitch team. Her love and skill for softball continued at
UW-Platteville where she played for one year.
Rachel and her twin sister Sara were inseparable and were truly best friends. They talked or texted
almost every day. Rachel and her two sisters, Megan and Sara, were the best of friends growing up. A
highlight of the three sisters was playing softball together. Rachel was a leader on the field and off the
field. Not a day went by that she didn’t text her twin, Sara. Anyone who knew Rachel knew that she was
the brave one, the fierce one, and the one who meant business. She was a hard worker and an even
harder lover. She worked fearlessly for the life she made, her career, relationships, and didn’t stop
trying when things got tough. Her light and her fire will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Rachel graduated from UW-Platteville in 2018 with her degree in Math and Education. It was at
Platteville where she met the love of her life, Tyler Allen Kubitz. They met in December of 2016 and
were married on August 8, 2020, which Rachel said was the “best day of her life.”
Rachel and Tyler were very adventurous, going on many camping and hiking trips. They lived in Georgia
for three years before moving back to Sheboygan County this past July. Rachel loved sunflowers and her
two dogs, Bri and Nelli, who she treated like her children. Rachel and Tyler were truly meant for each
other and found out three weeks ago that she was expecting their first child.
She worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst for Focus Brands. She took great pride in her work and
was always ready for a new challenge or project.
From Tyler,” Rachel was the most beautiful soul I have ever met and I know that anyone that was lucky
enough to spend time with her would agree. We were lucky to meet at college in 2016 and she was the
girl that laughed at all of my jokes. You always worry about that flame losing it's fire but it felt like our
relationship held that joy the entire time we were together. There were so many aspects of Rachel's
personality that I would try to reflect in my own life. She woke up every day with the same elevation of
happiness and eagerness to complete every task set in her path. Everyone knew her as my girlfriend &
wife but I can say with my whole heart that I lost my best friend. I pray that she is now in a place of
happiness and I look forward to the day that we can walk together again holding hands.”
