Delores Marie Cain (nee Thielman) of Plymouth, WI passed away peacefully on
November 3, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center, Sheboygan surrounded by her loving
family. She was born on July 14, 1936, in Chilton, WI, a daughter of the late Henry
and Antoinette Thielman.
Delores attended school in Plymouth, WI graduating from Plymouth High School in
1954. In 1954, she married the late Francis Cain and together they had seven children.
In her youth, Delores helped her dad with the at-home milk delivery service and
assisted on her family mink ranch. Later, she held various jobs including working at
St. John the Baptist with her Grandpa Klinkner, S&R Cheese, Arndt’s Restaurant and
Bowling Alley, and most recently at Tecumseh until her retirement.
Delores enjoyed attending all 3 generations of her family’s sporting and other events
until her final days. She was their biggest fan! Delores was known as “Ma Cain” or
“Grandma Cain” by all, even those unrelated. Delores loved driving around and
checking up on all her family, she always seemed to know where to find them. She
enjoyed family gatherings, preparing large feasts, telling stories and playing
sheepshead. She ritually enjoyed her Friday Fish Fry with a light beer. Delores always
gave to others and her greatest gift was her love. She loved with all of her heart
beyond measure, condition, or reason.
She is survived by her seven children; William (Jamie Thompson) of Plymouth,
Eugene (Cheryl) of Aurora, MN, Edward of Plymouth, Gerald (Donna) of Plymouth,
Mary (Jeff) Thede of Plymouth, Thomas of Kiel, and Francis “Butch” (Janeen) of
Plymouth. Delores is also survived by her grandchildren; Matthew Cain, Theresa
(Mike) Cain-Bieri, Nick Cain, Michelle (Tony) Smith, Izack Cain, Katy Cain, Joshua
(Danielle) Cain, Elliot (Sarah) Cain, Caylee (Jacob) Koepsell, Anthony Cain, Joa
Cain, Breinne Cain, and Zackary Cain, and Great Grandchildren; Collin, Blake,
Sienna, Charlie, MacKenzie, Hudson, Evelyn, Grayden, Colman, Marley, Annabelle,
Sloan and Baby Girl Cain. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and
countless friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Antoinette Thielman; in-
laws, Tom & Anna Cain; brother, Harvey (Geraldine) Thielman; sister, Carol Bonnett;
granddaughter, Tabitha Thede; Special Godmother, Lorraine Goethke; and other
family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (November 12, 2022) at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am-12 noon, with
mass to follow at 12 noon with Fr Philip Reifenberg officiating. Burial will be at St
John the Baptist Cemetery. Everyone is invited to share a meal at Generations, an
Intergenerational Center in Plymouth after the services.
Delores’ family would like to thank the staff and friends at Songbird Pond, Aurora
Medical Center, and Aurora Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Delores’ name to be used
for a local community sporting cause and a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
