The latest data from the CDC and the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health show a stable presence of COVID-19 within the county.
The County DPH reports 97 new cases since last week, raising the running total to 33,729. There were no new deaths and the toll remains 283. There are currently 10 persons hospitalized, unchanged from last Friday, while the total persons ever hospitalized for COVID-19 rose by five to 1,341.
The community transmission level in Sheboygan County as reported by the CDC was low. 110.11 new COVID-19 cases were reported (per 100,000 population) in the last 7 days, compared with 108.38 the previous week. New hospital admissions per 100,000 within the previous 7 days were 7.8, down from 9.4 the previous week, and the percent of staffed inpatient beds used by COVID-19 patients (7-day average) rose from 5.3% to 7.0%.
Graphics from the Centers for Disease Control showing Sheboygan County Case and Death Rates over the past year display a low murmer with little change since the beginning of summer. That followed a sharp spike in both counts shortly after the beginning of 2022.
