Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge Kent Hoffmann has announced his planned retirement next year when his current term ends.
Hoffmann had a 30-year career in the public sector, having first served as a Wisconsin State Public Defender trial attorney, then as an Assistant District Attorney in Marinette County. Hoffmann was appointed to the Sheboygan County Circuit Court bench by Governor Walker in May of 2016. He was subsequently elected to a six-year term in 2017. That term expires on July 31 next year.
In his retirement announcement, Judge Hoffmann was thankful to the people of Sheboygan County for his opportunity to serve, writing that he had thoroughly enjoyed his time as a Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge, and said that he was looking forward to “the freedom to see where life leads.” The election to fill his seat on the bench will be held next April.
