Clifford O. Schwarz, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October
21, 2022. He was born April 12, 1930, in Sheboygan to the late Frederic and Hildegarde
(Fobian) Schwarz. Clifford attended Lincoln Elementary and Sheboygan Central High School.
On January 7, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty Reichardt in Sheboygan. Together they
raised two children, Gregg (Julie) Schwarz and Robin (Paul) Callan. Betty preceded him in death
on March 8, 2016. Clifford worked for the City of Sheboygan Public Works Department for 39
years, retiring on September 5, 1989.
Clifford loved jazz music and began collecting records at the age of 12. He also enjoyed Lionel
trains and had a set up in his home for many years. Clifford was a movie enthusiast enjoying
mostly old westerns and detective movies. Watching baseball on tv, but especially his son and
grandson’s sports endeavors was a favorite pastime of his. Fixing things for his children and
relatives was a joy of his, he cherished his family and being able to help them when he could.
His sense of humor will be remembered by all, along with the different nicknames he gave
them. He was also an avid walker and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Clifford is further survived by his six grandchildren: Kristin (Ryan) Olstad, Heather (Ryan Hogle)
Schwarz, Taylor (Vanessa) Schwarz, Brandon (Amy) Schwarz, Rebecca (Julien Lavanchy-
Delhomme) Callan, and Kimberly (Dylan Vann) Callan, seven great-grandchildren and one on
the way, his brother-in-law Richard Reichardt, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, Dolores (Norman) Rakow,
Virginia (Stony) Strohmeyer, and Joyce Schwarz, brothers and sisters -in-law, Frank Reichardt,
Bob Reichardt, Lorraine Kolenc, Genevieve Heinen, Jeanette Faught, Dorothy Schad, and Carol
Primasing.
In honoring Clifford’s wishes there will be no services.
Clifford and Betty can be honored by donations to the American Heart Association or the
Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to convey a special thank you to our long-time family friend Barbara
Wagner, who assisted in Cliffs care and companionship after Betty died. We know his life was
extended because of her devoted care. Also, thank you to his neighbors of 48 years, Cal and
Jeannine Voskuil, for their patience, understanding and support.
