Division 1:
No. 8 Sheboygan North (4-5, 4-3) @ No. 1 Waunakee (9-0, 7-0); Fri. October21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Sheboygan North has made the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and just second time for the program since 1999. Senior quarterback Maxwell Tutas has been the engine behind Sheboygan North’s offense this season, having under 1,300 total yards and 16 total touchdowns (6 passing and 10 rushing) and guiding the offense to produce 25.7 points per game this season. They face a Waunakee team that won the Division 2 State Championship last year.
Division 3:
No. 5 Plymouth (7-2, 5-2) @ No. 4 Pewaukee (7-2, 6-1); Fri. October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Although Plymouth has lost two games this season, they have only lost them by a combined five points. Plymouth junior quarterback Jordan Schmitt was one the most efficient passers in the East Central Conference with 100 passes completed, a 68.5% completion rate, 15 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions, all conference bests while also finishing second passing yards with 1,289. Schmitt will need to be on point in this game for Plymouth, as Pewaukee averages 38.2 points per game this season. Plymouth and Pewaukee met in the second-round of the 2021 playoffs, which Pewaukee won 34-0.
Division 4:
No. 5 Sheboygan Falls (5-4, 3-4) @ No. 4 Campbellsport (6-3, 5-2); Fri. October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Sheboygan Falls returns to the playoffs this year with a high-powered offense averaging 34.8 points per game and nearly 3,000 total yards. Such offensive production is miles ahead of last year’s Sheboygan Falls team who were shut-out in a 59-0 loss in the first-round of the playoffs to the Kohler/Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran Co-op. Campbellsport enters the playoffs on a two-game winning streak, while Sheboygan Falls is on a two-game losing streak.
No. 7 Kohler/Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran Co-op (3-6, 3-4) @ No. 2 Kewaskum (8-1, 6-1); Fri. October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Kewaskum enters this game with one best defensive units the East Central Conference with 19 sacks, 81 tackles for loss, and 12 interceptions. Such pressure could spell disaster for a Kohler/Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran Co-op offense that was only able to put up 21.6 points per game this season and had two separate three-game losing streaks. All of Kohler/Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran’s losses also came by two or more touchdowns.
Division5:
No. 5 Lake Country Lutheran (4-5, 4-3) @ No. 4 Oostburg (6-3, 5-2); Fri. October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Oostburg has been battle tested this season prior to entering the playoffs, facing five playoff teams during the regular season. Oostburg went 2-3 against those playoff teams, but two of the three losses were by one score. This will be the first football game between these two teams in the playoffs.
Division 6:
No. 5 Howards Grove (7-2, 5-2) @ Cedar-Grove Belgium (7-2, 7-0); Fri. October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Game notes: Despite starting the season 0-2, Cedar-Grove Belgium rattled off seven straight wins, all in conference to capture the Big East Conference title led by an offense that finished with a 134+ point differential. In week 3, Cedar-Grove Belgium held off Howards Grove at home in a 42-35 victory. Howards Grove is the second highest-scoring offense in the Big East Conference, including a conference best 25 passing touchdowns and 2,149 passing yards. It’s likely to be an offensive duel that could be decided by one offensive play.
