Emily Ann Wegner, age 38, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 14th, 2022. With all their love, she will be fiercely missed by her family and her friends.
If a story could be told with a smile, Emily had a big one to tell. It is rare to find a person who’s smile and love is so genuine. Her laugh was boisterous and positively contagious; a sound that will continue to resonate in her loved ones’ minds and hearts.
She was an eternally loving daughter to her parents. Whenever her mom needed her most, she was her rock. She was a best friend and confidant to her sister, Andrea, and enjoyed good intellectual conversation with her brother, Randy. To her nieces and nephews, she was a fun and loving aunt, their “Nini”. She loved them endlessly in a way that was effortless and always put an entertaining twist on engaging them. She was an incredible friend to those she held close.
Emily was born May 28th, 1984, in Sheboygan, WI, to Ann and Randy Wegner. She was the first born in the family and seemed to enjoy that position. Emily grew up attending St. Dominic’s Grade School and graduating from Sheboygan North High in 2003.
After high school, Emily attended Marian University to become an educator. She was very intelligent, held a place in the honors program and played trumpet in the band. Starting in 2014, Emily taught math at Kiel Middle School. She very much loved her 7th grade students and will be missed especially for her quirky sense of humor and problem-solving skills. She had a special gift for teaching and was well-respected by her peers. She had many dear friends among her Middle School family.
Emily lived in Sheboygan, sharing her home with her pup, Mabel, and cat, Esther. She was an avid reader, always having a book or word puzzle in her hands. As a child she could occasionally be seen reading while riding her bike. Her love for literature undoubtedly contributed to her incredible way with words. Emily had a wit that was unmatched, and she loved a solid debate. She enjoyed camping with family at Crooked Lake in the Summer, beach days with her good friend Christy and meeting friends out to socialize. She had a love for Coach purses though she was a self-proclaimed “baller on a budget”. Emily also had a passion for traveling. There are no words that can encompass the weight of loss that her family, friends and all who knew her are experiencing.
